Scattered and Lovestruck

Scattered and Lovestruck

A Poem by Stephen Tysinger

(these are the scrambled ramblings of a lovestruck fool…. It’s all pure nonsense, really…)

Disguised intentions
Not quite there
Gut-wrenching tensions
Lack of air
One look in her eyes,
And my heart stops beating
Her face gets me seething
Her touch stops my breathing

For a moment I’m lost
Lost and daydreaming
Then with eyes glossed
My heart starts screaming
Bringing on that hopeful feeling
But it’s still my heart she’s stealing
And I can’t stop thinking
As my heart is sinking

And my mind she’s haunting
Relentlessly flaunting
Her hold over me
Her true devotee
So come to me, my muse,
Help me deal with these blues.
Im lost and alone
My mind is far gone

As I think, and dream
Of this crazy scheme
I need your soft touch
It’s all a bit much.
See as my mind breaks down
This is the story I speak
But with words of a clown
Its conclusion is weak

We wear our masks
Disguise the cries
Of what our hearts really ask
Is it any surprise?
That we never listen
To the truth within

Maybe she’s on the road to forgiveness
But isn’t quite there yet?

But nothing she does will make this hurt less
nor make me forget….

Author's Note

Stephen Tysinger
Was experimenting with a particular form, kind of lyrical, but with a quick flow. That being said, critique away!
