Moments

Moments

A Poem by Adelia Alighieri
"

At some certain times in our lives, we become the world's luckiest and the happiest person. But then those beautiful moments, just vanish away like they were never here.

"

At some uncertain moments,

Of a very uncertain happiness,

Some things become vividly unexplicable,

And so very hard to confess.

And before the past could be understood,

The present turns into dust,

And in seconds the trees lose their leaves,

And even iron starts to rust.

But those uncertain moments of happiness,

Remain always, protected,

And like an unbreakable bond,

They inseparably remain connected.

And then still at times,

When those uncertain moments are told to others,

Nothing seems as if it were true,

And nothing ever even bothers.

At times, unfortunately when these moments of happiness are forgotten,

We seem to lose our imagination, our memory,

And now that I already regret it,

There isn't, a slightest chance of recovery.

It certainly isn't one my bests but it was fun writing it as I actually experienced a 'certain, happy moment' once...probably on the 22nd of May, 2008.

This is a psychological exploration of memory that I found particularily informative, as to the human condition and level of our consciousness and relationship with time in general.

It's truly quite original, while taking on a common theme. These moments continue to remind us of what has already been.

I agree with what Nancy said but never think it wasnt your best. It was something different compared to what we see from others . You had a different way of expressing things and u managed to do it in your own manner and did it superbly

Hmm, i would honestly have loved the poem as a whole.. had it not been for ur flow of the poem.. it seems almost forced.. the rhyming is a bit outta tune too..

But still.. it's good nonetheless..

Keep smiling :) and keep rocking m/

The first three stanzas were really good and then it lost it's way a little after 'And then still at times' but a small amount of tweaking would sharpen up the point. Nice read anyhow.

An author is their own worst critic. Some will love it and some won't, but as for me I loved it. Thanks for sharing.

Semplicemente bello. [Simply beautiful.]

So many people can relate to this poem.

It is wonderfully written, and your point is definately made.

Lovely job. :]
