Pleasantary

Pleasantary

A Poem by Adelia Alighieri
"

Can't define it's type. Written outta experience.

"
Widen your horizons
Close your hazel eyes
Understand that God is never unjust
Think of all the happy things that have happened to you so far
And all that future will one day unravel
Wish of scarlet love and angelic peace
Think about people who think of you each second
Listen to the song of your heart and soul
Watch out for fame and fortune alike
Read your soul mate's mind
Wait for a miracle, wait for blessings, and wait for death
Wait for true love's first kiss
Stare at the best picture you have of yours
Stop complaining Whistle your favorite tune
Jump on bubble wrap and laugh until tears roll out of your eyes
Touch the moon and wish you were in heaven
Desire for diamonds and pearls
Face magic and tragic together
Live larger than life
Whatever happens, do not stop breathing
So take a deep breath
Deeper
Smile at the thought of your family, friends and embarrassments
Pray for an eternal life after death
Judge your enemies from their faces
Play a card trick and sip hot cocoa
Smell your hair to count the days it's been since your last shower
Kiss a baby's cheek to know how tender and sweet life can be
Hug your mother, if you have never before
Race to the next bus stop
Laugh with others when they play a prank on you
Scream when you meet your favorite artist
At least once, let someone fall in love with you
Take bad news as no news
Become a child when with a child
Listen to the birds chirping and understand their freedom
Cry when you win
Jump in the river, only if you know how to swim
Mourn your bad luck, forget optimism
All good things life gives us, cherish them
And believe in yourself, your ambitions
So when you die
You don't have to blame anyone else for your life
And could peacefully, open your eyes to face the hereafter.

I don't agree with Alya, a poem cannot be too long or too short, it's how you perceive it and how much you want to be interested in it. When you set out to read a poem, finish it, embrace it like it's your own, try and feel the essence of it's substance, why it's written, why it exists, then judge it according to it's purpose, and reason over it's meaning, but it's no one's place to tell you how long or short your poem is and whether or not it's good. I can see this poem wasn't meant to rhyme, it wasn't meant to roll sweetly over the tongue, but you have achieved what you set out to do, catch my imagination, see the truth in it all, I agree with every line, every phrase. It's an amazing agenda for life. It can be simply expressed with my favourite quote of all time... "the more you live, the less you die."

Keep the great work up! loving it :) x

Very beautiful! I love the idea of this. It's totally a "live life to the fullest" kind of thing. Stop and smell the roses, enjoy what you can. Very nicely written and so, so true! It's so optimistic and uplifting. I do think, however, that it could use some work. If you organized it into stanzas it might read a little bit easier. But great work nonetheless!

This is such a passionate and inspiring piece. The rhythm of this poem flows so smoothly like waves crashing onto the shore so beautifully. I like it very much.

I found this on FB, shared by Abdul. Thanks to him, that I get to read this. It's more like a command/preaching/ prayer. Shows all the positive things in life and the happiness that lurks beneath all those. As I neared the closing lines, I felt myself truly energized and motivated and that means you have succeeded. Some poems shouldn't be dug too deep and reviewed upon the form and meter etc., and this is one. Very very few words could be altered, but it's OK as it is. "Listen to the birds chirping and understand their freedom" - Might seem weird, but this is my best lines off the lot. That's because I have a special kind of obsession towards birds (Right from my childhood) and I always longed to be a bird, lol. A perfect poem to read in this lovely morning. Thanks for sharing and Keep writing.. :)

I can only say here that no thought is misplaced. I love your poetry thus far. It offers great hope, with such eloquence in your thoughts! You string together images of great appeal in each of your poems, and this is no different. Here, you take incidences from daily life and remind us how joyful life can be. The line I like the most is "Understand that God is never unjust ". I'm sure you know why I do ;)
Another one of yours into my favorites!

So lovely as the vast blue sky...this poem fills you with great enthusiasm for life..and it is nice the way you encompass so many instances from life which bring a smile on our face..and you couldn't but help the length of the poem cause life...the very essence of your poem has so much to offer you couldn't sum it all up in few words..could you ;)

This poem is full of positiveness. It's very uplifting. We should try not to see ourselves as victims when we don't have to. Try to look on the bright side when things seem way too dark and hopeless.

This is a really good write. I love how you use the examples of situations that would make someone happy and peaceful instead of explaining the words. It makes the poem come to life in a way that defining "peaceful" wouldn't be able to. I like the length, too. You aren't limiting yourself, and aren't afraid to finish your thought, no matter how long it takes. =)
