The Birth of the Baby

The Birth of the Baby

A Poem by Azure Montessa (Blue)
"

A poem about the real essence of Christmas.

"

Oh, cold greetings of December

Signal the best season of the year

When gifts, love, and Yuletide carols

Fill the early Christmas air

It is when Santa tours around the globe

Giving presents to all who do good

It's the time when strangers exchange smiles

Friends celebrate, enemies reconcile.

As we rejoice, there is something we forget

The real essence of Christmas we no longer commemorate

Preoccupied as we are, it's not right to ignore

The promised salvation years and years before

It's the coming of the Messiah to His created earth

Redemption has been brought through His birth

Yes, that's Christmas which prophets have long foretold

An event worth celebrating of both young and old.

So this Christmas, have time to visit Him

Lying in a manger somewhere in Bethlehem

Awe at  His holiness, marvel at His beauty

Robe Him with love, Oh crown the baby!

Kings brought Him myrrh, gold, and incense

Offer yourself with faith and confidence.

Forget hatred, let those troubles pass

Smile and rejoice for the gift of Christmas!
