Submerged

Submerged

A Poem by AshleyDeyPoetry
"

How I feel living is like with both anxiety and depression.

"

I can see the shoreline

But it’s engulfed in flames

My arms burn from treading water

It’s sink or swim

But I am too tired to keep myself afloat

As the cold waves envelop me

Embracing me into the depths

I hold my breath and try to fight

Before suddenly gulping for oxygen

That is nowhere to be found

Here beneath the surface

My body goes numb

As cool acceptance washes over me

This is it

The end
