Breathe easy and inspiration will come.

I haven’t written much lately

Though I have had so much to say

The words stay lodged in my tired brain

Stuck within my dry throat

Unable to formulate the sentences

The phrases

The statements

Into perfectly worded stanzas

So I shall remain lost in thought

Trying to pin down the feelings fruitlessly

A butterfly I can’t quite catch in my net

Not quite quick enough

Sluggish and heavy

So I lay down my pen

And try to silence the jumbled thoughts in my head
