Somebody to Love

Sometimes you really miss the value of intimacy.

I miss being intimate

Not the “let’s take our clothes off” intimate

But the “I know today was rough so I did something nice for you”

The “I remember this detail about you”

The “I want to show you I care”

The “I want to know everything about you”

The “I want you to be happy above all else” kind of intimacy

Maybe I had it and threw it all away

I may have been comfortable

But I want that happiness

And sometimes happiness is scary at first

Hard to grasp

I’m willing to be uncomfortable for a little while

If that is what I find

I am just tired of going through life alone

I want someone to share it with

To share in my happiness

To be intimate with

In every sense of the word
