Rushing Through Me

Rushing Through Me

A Poem by ashweejune

Sometimes I wonder

Why can’t I sleep

But then I remember

That promise I made

That true love lasts forever

So as I think on my bed

Asking why am I troubled so

Why can’t I just be dead

But then I think of those who love me

A rush of happiness flows through me

Why can’t they see?

Why can’t I be?

What I’ve longed to be forever

Happy and in love

And to have someone love me back

Even though my heart fills with guilt

My love for him only grows stronger

With every passing day

The wait only becomes longer
