88 - Monarch (Butterfly)

88 - Monarch (Butterfly)

A Poem by Amaeratsu

When the pale light of morning

Shines upon the soft blue skies

A gentle breeze greets a delicate wing

Burst from the cocoon

Radiant colors adorn the sky

A flick, a flutter, a flash of wings

A whisper, nothing more.

This silent herald of spring

Wings of the brightest orange

Touch lightly, then part again

Like star crossed lovers, on the path of fate

Destined forever, to be torn apart

Just as they draw close.

Forever on the search

For something sweet

Flitting from flower to flower

In a complex dance.

Rich, deep purple meets bright, sunny orange

And the world comes to life.

A mass of moving color

Interchanging, merging, shifting.

Soft, gentle breeze, brushes past

Brings delicate life, along.

Gliding, where the wind might lead

The maestro, the mistress

The gentle, steady hand guides

Soft wings, that float upon these skies.

Come home now, dearest one

Float among the flowers

Sweet scents, chase away all wrong

Dazzling, brilliant, bright

Perfect symmetry.
