If I Reached Out

If I Reached Out

A Poem by Giggling Star
"

Words of fear and courage

"

For the thrill of an illicit love, you gave into desire

To make yourself feel better......you said I was a liar

You must remember how it felt, how you needed me to go

It was your affair that sent us swirling, in that vortex oh so slow

You said you made a big mistake, that I was who you needed

I was thrilled to have this chance again, although I knew you cheated

And then you'd have to leave me, and come back to me once more

until that sad bleak horrid day, when I walked out the door.

I call on all my courage, to see this thing straight through

I may be foolish, a glutton, afraid, but it's all that I can do

to not mail out that letter and let you know I'm here

I tried it once before you know, and now I'm full of fear.

I'm afraid of I might go crazy, if your eyes are cold with frost

the curl of your lips would tell me, everything is lost

Or would I see our love light, burning brightly in those eyes

that gentle smile, that thrilling touch, that you cannot disguise

If I reached out to touch you, as I did so long ago

Would you welcome me with gladness, with kisses soft and slow?

Or will you simply laugh at me, crippled 'neath the strain

while you usher me back into my chapel of endless pain.

This is so emotional and I was moved. Every line honestly describes how you feel...the pain you keep.

Just keep going...

About
I am a happy, optimistic person. My favorite thing in life is laughing. Nothing makes me feel more loved that to be gently teased ... and I like to tease you back. In the end ... I hope I die laugh.. more..
