Colors of Treason

Colors of Treason

A Poem by James

I can't keep holding this grudge against myself,
Grown to regret investing emotion into you,
What a bad habit.
Glad you can smile, all I can do is glare.
Been about a year and half since I've been in this snare,
The inner villain courses through my veins, on a warpath.
Just wait, we both know this isn't over.
Harlot, lust after what shines, too afraid to look on the inside,

To see what you really are, decay in your heart.
Never got the best of me, I saw all of this coming,
Utter anything and your stupidity will get redirected,
Colors of treason line you now, walk away.
Didn't realize how formidable I could be in the face of misery,
Fighting, crippled, and still I prevail.
