It’s Not Enough

It’s Not Enough

A Poem by Alexandra

Blue nails
Scratch the surface of your edifice
My hair strands on your clothes
While you meet with her
In an old basement of your parent’s home

Do her lips taste well with all the lipstick?
If you laid a finger, will her makeup wear off?
Tell me do all these women line up for the same job at the mall
If so, tell me where to sign up

My pale face
Cold feet
Glasses on
Ready to approach you
While you approach her

What a f*****g caveat
To love someone
That only loves glamour and surface appeal
While you linger in Rich and wear worn out sweaters from the thrift store
