“Let’s Go Back To Our Home”/ Things Were Simpler

“Let’s Go Back To Our Home”/ Things Were Simpler

A Poem by Alexandra

1010 Adams Avenue will never be the same
My dear goddess
You walk up the stairs with no worries
Deposit old relics of something that was once mine
And turn with your smile like you do

I’ll be fine
If I hold people like you close to my heart
I want to dedicate my time and efforts to you
Linger a little longer
So when the night grows old
And loneliness comes in
I’ll remember spring and how the wind carried two 10 year old girls through thick and thin

I’ll be fine
Just stay right where you are
I’ll grab fallen petals
And place them back just the way they were
I’ve only learned to walk away from those that naturally fell away

I’ll be fine
1010 Adams Avenue will never be the same

like a mother to her children after she has departed...her spirit lingers and she still watches and tries to protect...and remembers...wishing she could go back...as her girls also wish for things to be like they once were...but time moves on and takes us and people we love along with it.

Goddess...such an interesting use of words. Mine calls crows. This piece's imagery is enigmatic and vivid. I love this. Keep up the amazing work...
