Carl’s Tavern//I Don’t Want Anyone

Carl’s Tavern//I Don’t Want Anyone

A Poem by Alexandra

I’ll sit at a bar with Kenneth
Will talk about our love life
I’ll reminisce about the only person I truly ever cared for
While he looks down at all the pain I’ve been through to get where I am
I’m just glad to be alive

(Mexico feels like yesterday, diving through the fishes and feeling your hand on mine. Passing through plants and all entities of life. You were my life at one point. Dedicating day and night to you. Smoking cigarettes with jalapeño margaritas by the beach. When the only thing we needed was each other. Now, you don’t exist. Running off into the night with other women that don’t know your worth like I do. I just hope you remember to stay gentle and faithful.)
