In Another Life She Would've Loved You

In Another Life She Would've Loved You

A Poem by Alexandra

Your jealousy rises at night
Knowing the hot breath of another rises on the gape of her neck
Your hair follicles straight
Brows furrowed
You can feel her
Feel the hands of another going past her cheek bone

If you love her, why won't she stay?
If you give her the world, why won't she stick around to get to know it better?
Pretty girl, she is
But, her mind encapsulates you in a spider web
Her interconnecting theories
The artists she spits out like wildfire
The various times she stays home trying to draw or even write a few words on paper
To come closer to her idols that hang on her wall

A queen size bed you gave her
Just for her to drag other male counterparts to enthrall her
While you're away on business

She utters love so softly
But, gives her attention to all who seek
She gives
She gives
But, when you finally decide to reciprocate...

She falls away
Never to be heard again
