"Why're You Single?"

"Why're You Single?"

A Poem by Alexandra

Many ask why she stays alone
What none understand
Is she gave up trying
To find love in the smallest crevices of stranger's hearts
And in people's bedrooms

She'd rather feel the sun on her calves
See beauty in literature
Bring inspiration to others
Than look for the insincere

Love can be divided and scattered in so many places
For now she looks into dusty books in the thrift store
Gatherings with her friends in the unlikeliest places
Paint strokes in her attic bedroom
And acknowledges it's presence when it brushes her hands in NYC parties

This and only this is her agenda
