A Poem by Alexandra

As a young girl
You wonder what love looks like
As you stare at a worthless man and your heartbroken mother

As a young adolescent
You wonder what love looks like
As you stare at a man that touches you at night and a sick mother

As a young woman
You wonder what love looks like
As you stare at the bruise on your lips and blood on the dashboard of your car

As a mother
You wonder what love looks like
When you beg for affection and you cry in a locked bedroom

As a single mother
You wonder what love looks like
When you extend your hand out and are met with second-thoughts

I read it from the end to the start , I was hoping the start would be better from the end,
Smart writing, painful and sad but that how life can be

Life isn't the novel we wish it were from childhood. Knights on white horses aren't always good guys. We don't choose whom we love, just whom we like. Euphemisms all - but real none-the-less.

But the PATHS we walk are god-awful-lonely and life is relentless and mid-naughts aren't just a time, and the moments you find "magyk" you NEED to turn to the person beside you and say ...and when they aren't there, when no one is there, the silence steals the magyk away.

I guess we catch-a-breath as and when we can and continue on our ways as only we can - as and when we can.
