The Office

The Office

A Poem by Alexandra

The office is a mourning place of sorts
Old relics on dusty shelves
Boxes packed and ready to be taped to go to your next destination
Old albums and journals that we wrote in
Space occupied that was intended to be placed with permanency

The air so damp in the office
It weighs heavy
Of heartache and nicotine

Sorrowful

I pay my respects once in a while
As I lay on the wooden floor and mourn the beginning and the end of an ambitious dream
