“I’ll be there”

“I’ll be there”

A Poem by Alexandra
"

As a kid, I would wait for a father that would never come home. I’d lay my head by the door so when it opened, I would wake up. Unbeknownst to me, I’d fall asleep and he’d never come back home.

"
I find myself teetering
How can you pick and choose?
How can you love me so good?

I hold you
You hold me
Your timer goes off
In an hour you are gone

That’s not reality

If this were love
You’d stay
You’d stay and love me

Our bed sheets entwined within our legs are what keeps you coming home
That and perhaps my love

I’m so bitter
I’m so enraged

When I know you so well
And you turn away so quickly

“He’s going to walk all over you”

Is that true?

My god, I’m so f*****g naive.
