How Can I Forget A Familiar Face?

How Can I Forget A Familiar Face?

A Poem by Auby Faith Evans

How can I forget,
such a familiar face?

So familiar,
yet so foreign,
I used to hold it,
in between my palms.

Time drove by like a hasty driver,
a season after another,
but, i am still looking out,
for my favorite face.

Across the panes, i see growing buds,
by the sidewalk, i see growing hearts,
season of love is here,
i am but a stranger.

How can I forget,
such a familiar face,
once I had adored,
and loved.

Sometimes we choose to forget what once was
and never will be again. Old memories resurface
some good some bad, its human nature...Enjoyed
this one...
