PAUSE!

It started with social activities:

‘That meeting with the girls can wait, may be the next one’

That too did not materialize and the next and the next until there were no more invites

The family gatherings too became boring or rather not quite fitting

So one excuse for missing this then the next

Soon silence followed no calls or text as the response would be the same

 

Next the office parties:

"The timing for this one is a bit late so may be the next one"

"The venue for the next one is too far for someone without a car, next time"

Next something needs urgent attention so you guys have fun

Soon the message was passed as an FYI because she would not attend anyway

 

Dancing was one of her favorites and was known by all

But this too, soon became history and she could not synchronize the beats and rhythm

Movies became a thing of the past for someone who would sit in a movie theatre alone,

Music gave her headaches and so that too was left for later

Soon there was no more fun left

No friends to hang out with, no relatives to visit

 

Today, she sits here wondering…… what is it that she really loves??

It just hit her:  she PAUSED for too long !
