lost without a map

lost without a map

A Poem by Audrie

I'm standing calm at the edge of the gap

I'm looking forward and I don't have a map

It's getting blustery and hard to balance

I'm trying not to fall over the valance

I'm teetering and choking on the untamed wind

it's breathing too hard and my body seems skinned

I'm now exposed to the neverending gap

The one
that I can make overlap

into the next day

into next week

until the winds cry loud

and their eyes start to weep

filling the black abyss of the deep
with the love that I have for you

The love that I will keep

if only I could find the map.

Brilliant! Reminds me of Jean Gebser's comment re standing on brink of abyss, averring it fortunate that we ARE the abyss. And re maps, I'm reminded of both Ken Wilber's integral psych mappings, and the DVD of the "Pope of Cyberspace" ruminating on poetic sci-fi in the Age of Information called "No Map for These Territories." Your lines are crisp, your sensibility archetypal: that fine seam between transcendent awareness and starkly romantic erotica.
