afraid I might die

afraid I might die

A Poem by Audrie

My heart continues to expand and collapse~

leaving a residue of foul mishaps~

I need to fill the black hole within~

to smother the evil and destroy the sin~

to nurture the wound

that was created by hate~

so I'll calm myself down

and patiently wait

for my wound to heal,

for my pain to break~

While I am waiting

I'll be strong and won't cry

but if it takes too long to heal

I'm afraid I might die
