Reflection

Reflection

A Poem by Aurora Rose Collins
"

I wrote this while reflecting on myself and how i wonder if anyone out there feels exactly how i feel. Sometimes lonely, sometimes enthusiastic, sometimes ambitious, sometimes sad, or even lost.

"

If you see your own reflection in me,

You will keep your circle small & spend your leisure times on reading or making arts,

Thinking it as part of your miracles to express something sincerely from your heart,

You decided to dip the monochrome cruel world in a deep epic yellow - gold,

Blocking the melancholic melodies with indie pop musics,

Only listening to the rhythm of those soft beats & genuine handwritten lyrics,

If you see your own reflection in me,

You keep on giving your love away until you forget to keep some in your hand,

Causing the chaos in your fragile heart & being mistreated by boys parading as men,

Despite of all those lies, sweet & dandies fairy tales,

Your mind is still full with colorful poems,

Like a huge flower field with beautiful daisies blooming everywhere;

reminding you of a real home somewhere,

completing the puzzle pieces on next day,

Yet you found yourself in those worst droughts & become you own hero mayday,

If you see your own reflection in me,

You write when something is bothering your mind,

Searching for the solitary word to find,

In hoping of freeing yourself from the bind,

You'll go to the nearby dessert cafe to buy some ice creams,

While you're busy with your never ending daydreams,

Yet your hand couldn't stop sketching as the ink flows on the paper flawlessly,

Your mind never let you rest, it keeps on pouring out the universe inside like a rain,

And sometimes you dump the ideas into the im-not-good-enough drain,

If you see your own reflection in me,

You have a list of names you refused to say again,

Paths to be crossed or bend,

You burnt everything into ashes while letting go of the pain,

Once the sun sets, you know your part have gained,

You cut loosen the ties & continue with your own path to mend,

If you see your own reflection in me,

You believe in the sincerity of love itself,

You give & give & give to everyone until nothing has left,

Until you forget to 'take' for goodness sake,

If you see your own reflection in me,

I don't have anything to say except for a sorrowful sorry,

But darling, stand up on the blurry lines,

'Have courage & be kind',

For i promise you everything will be fine.
