Chemical Imbalance

Chemical Imbalance

A Poem by averybaker411

There is a chemical imbalance in my brain.

Because of this,
I will spend my life
dependent on drugs.

Because of this,
most days are spent
laying in bed.

Because of this,
I break down over
the smallest things.

Because of this,
there is a semicolon
tattooed on my arm.

Because of this,
my arms and legs
are covered in scars.

Because of this,
I contacted
the Suicide Hotline.

Because of this,
I tried unsuccessfully
to end my life.

Because of this,
I must choose
not to let it define me.

There is a chemical imbalance in my brain.
