The Fallen Angel

The Fallen Angel

A Poem by Jessica Gilbert

Your fire eyes spark the first consuming flame
Sweet, tantalizing lips are the reason I came
The kiss that will spread your addicting drug through me
let it burn, let it scorch me

I wear the gown of dangerous anticipation
watching you for the forbidden initiation
Follow me, your bright flare will say
into the darkness, our sinful hideaway

I'll find you waiting for me
In our garden of Eden, city of lust
You'll consume me wholly
Until I'm glowing embers, golden dust

Touching you will be purifying power
like marble angel skin tried in passionate fire
My mortality will fade like the light of day
As we break the laws of heaven, damned lovers willingly to stay

Broken wings will be our reminder
the cursed, hopeless fall we are under
Bittersweet will be our years
As you are the fallen angel, my the forbidden hunger
