Blast Off

Blast Off

A Poem by Nora Mandrus

Somewhere I wait to explode.
Too many things to be left here to stay.
I'm sick of tomorrows and yesterdays.
The better, the greener, the stronger.
What if I'm just me and that will never change?
Do I still deserve to plant my feet firmly on the ground?
Or do the skies call me home?
No one parties harder than the stars.
Grey may come my way but it never hovers overhead for long.
Time passes.
Seasons change.
But I just look down.
Feel forever and taste the rain.
The lights shine so bright in your eyes.
I don't want to look away but here…
I have to.
Because
Time passes
And
Seasons change.
We reach for our ever but we always miss.
Limitless limits.
I just want limitless.
