A Poem by Bee
"

A brief poem about writer's block.

"

I am forever drowning in the thoughts that swarm my scattered mind,

For the words which would convey them dance ever farther out of reach,

Fluttering like fairies most unfairly confined,

Forever taunting me with sights I cannot put to speech.

It is not a "block," a blank barricade to be broken down in time.

Rather, it is a horizon I cannot breach,

For it lies across an ocean, while I stand stranded on the beach.

But there is so much I have yet to say,

That will all be lost if I allow myself to stray.

Unable to believe these sentiments impossible to convey,

I shall ever continue striving to find the way,

For on this barren shore I refuse to stay.

Bee
This is from a few months ago now; I'm uploading it along with some other poems and drabbles I wrote during my absence here. Why have I decided to come back after months of silence? I suppose it's because I have a lot on my mind I'd like to get off of it. More to come.

I love how you showed writer's block as a horizon instead of a barricade. I think it would have been good to have kept the ac, bd rhyme scheme in the last stanza as you did in the others.
