Crests

Crests

A Poem by Jordan Warren

The cold shows no mercy to me

Perhaps that is why I love so

Hold it dear in my heart, which in itself

Is as chaotic as the sea

Unrelenting spray does not discriminate

Knows nothing of hate

Nor prejudices held

Beneath the crest of the unknowable sea

Turmoil unifies the colors that we see

Jade, navy, the darkest black can be

But on the crest are the purest

Un-corrupted souls

That bath us in their pearly foam

The crest holds none above the other

For we all, one and another

Will surely founder

Beneath the crest of the untamable sea
