The Score

She was hypnotized by the music he played

She could not see the trap that within it laid

His orchestration of words sounded like a symphony

What she hears as his music sounds like white noise to me

Just one note and she is at his feet like a teenaged lover

With her unawares on high she does not try to cover

With his lyrical euphony she easily falls to his sway

With promises of the sweet sounds that he will play

In the end his notes are merely a string he plays

To make sure where he puts her she will always stay
