I Walk Beside A Shadow

I Walk Beside A Shadow

A Poem by Belinda Rice
"

just something I came up with I dont know what to think...

"

I walk beside a shadow

Wondering what it is,

Is it something to be scared of,

Every time I open or close my eyes,

Its there staring back at me,

I walk beside a shadow,

Each and everyday,

Wondering if it’s the devil,

That has a hold of me,

I pray to god at night ,

To talk it away,

But never knowing its not the devil,

It’s a special part of me,

That’s letting me see in life,

The glorious things inside of me,

I walk beside side a shadow,

Its there guiding me,

Through pain and sorrow,

Cause guess what that shadow is me,

That’s why I walk beside it for all eternity,

A few things....
First. Who cares if anyone gets it? Really ? I say this with the utmost of respect. I think that a poem is like a woman. There should be some mystery to her, to keep her attractive. This will leave lots of room for interpritation.
Second, I believe that there is a misspelled word on line 12
last, I would put a question mark in the middle of the second to the last line. "cause guess what? That shadow is me."
as for the poem as a whole...I liked it ! there is plenty of room for inerpritation and you have learned something that I continue to trip over.....not every line has to rhyme. not every word has to rhyme, not every word.....I fall for it too often . Other wise I see a good improvement in your form and all together skills. Nice job.

i like it especially the rhythm of it, and the rhyme of "me" and "eternity" was a good ending. its strange to realize youre stuck with yourself forever .. :)
