Cassus Nomen

Cassus Nomen

A Poem by Kitten

Cassus Nomen

Empty vessel floating in a sea of shattered darkness-
shards of a delusional girl;
cheap angel wings painted black and ripped,
perfect face marred with made-up tears –
       still falling alone
Why did you so fear the light,
to hide your face from dawn; Lies
are not meant to be smiling masks, just tragic faces
           melting into eternity
Are you, Eblis, still frozen in your belief,
that they will never notice your true essence?
Must you yet stand alone,
clinging to the pride of a false name?
Would that you could see the mirror that you’ve become entrapped in…
