A Poem by Father Mojo

You found death sleeping. We all were sleeping!
Not realizing how you must have hurt"
No other reason for why you did this.
We saw you smiling and heard you laughing,
And we never knew how you were in pain.
We believed your smiles, that’s what we wanted;
We bought your laughter, wanting to believe...
Wanting to believe the lie you offered.
And we lapped it up like hungry kittens
Feverishly lap a saucer of milk.
We are awake now, you awakened us!
There’s no more sleeping; there’s no more dreaming"
Just stark awareness of how we failed you...
