The Flag
By: Bannergirl1218

I watch you wave a glorious hello
to travelers everywhere in the USA
waving proudly while the north winds blow
your stripes gleaming in the light of day

You give athletes the spirit
that they need to carry on
you’re the reminder that I am free
because real heroes fight for it until the dawn

Colors red, white, and blue
so beautiful to see
my voice is full and true
as I sing for my liberty

Oh beautiful for spacious skies
the flag of America always flies
for amber waves of grain
lifting up and lightening all of American’s strain

America, America we feel so very proud
with the flag that has braved the bombs of war
the flag that we sing for very loud
as long as you spread
your very threads
and continue to soar

I watch as you wave your silent hello
to Americans you’ll never lag
I smile so brightly up at you from my place down below
and say “I’m proud to stand up for you great American flag”
