Violence

Violence

A Poem by PoetryofProvidence

So many to love, gifts you have given
those who were broken to me you have driven
they've opened houses so filled with pain
abodes where they could no longer remain

So many their stories to me they have shared
along with the trauma and life they had bared
God above you've opened my eyes
by discovery and revealing the sources of cries

Those who harm children and family do rape
and they which condone do this world shape
those who tell children they are partly to blame
must suffer our judgment by living in shame

Through the fires their lives have been forced
those who condone violence will suffer remorse
my own past gives me much understanding
about the choices and place of their landing

There is no place that I do turn
where pains in others are given to learn
litany to God to whom I decry
copious abuse that many deny

Our father can see beyond the disguise
the place in a heart where violence lies
injury to body not the only crime
to blame a child is violence of mind

each and every cry has been heard
even if the injured haven't spoken a word
like smoke of incense they have reached Gods throne
so many suffer and go through it alone

Wisdom and patience our God does await
for those who would learn to turn from hate
far too soon the world will rearrange
and too late for sinners to change

Do you know what is sin ?
harm to oneself and other men
why do so many no violence divorce
and choose love as the only course ?
