Light of the World

Oh most brilliant blaze of Light
with your brightness have you banished night
your corona illuminates your church
the temple where truth and knowledge perch

the fire of truth has burned through time
has forged new beings with hearts refined
those who seek you will be purified
within the furnace where dross has died

The flame of his Light has carved it's path
opened eyes and minds two thousand years past
he is the one who created heaven and earth
the breath of life to soil gave man birth

Loving kindness is the cloak you wear
love of life you have sought to share
who's radiance of truth imparts sight
and who's instruction divides wrong from right

What you taught us on the Mount
are the only things that really count
the rays of Son rest on your garden
All of those who would receive your pardon

Your instruction breaks the cloak of illusion
the teaching of priests who dispense confusion
inculcation of priesthood have you riven
enlightenment from you has given us vision

Light given by you does coalesce
solidified by the hearts you bless
Son of God you gave the world Light
that brightens path throughout the night

Your eminence above all others is plain
to enlighten mankind the reason you came
Your delight was daily with the sons of men
those of us lost and born into sin
