Unveiling (1985)

Unveiling (1985)

A Poem by PoetryofProvidence

Nature has set her rules
she has set her bounds
for you she has set
all her splendor down
What arbitrary laws
can men set apart
has nature not already
written in your heart
What notions can another
man for you devise
natures insight and examples
already for you made wise
let her as a mother would you guide
for all parts contained in
knowledge are on her side
time to time again
she's held her ground
always her methods of
growth to men astound
perceptions of what is good
already has she drew
to that course forever
has held true
whatever man esteems
and holds in guise
her precepts and her standards
bring to size
even in this man fights against himself
for contained within he's
buried inherent wealth
Thinking himself to be but natures crown
has himself by this conception
been put down
when compared with all
expanding natures might
he is but as a temporary blight
in hand to undermine all law and order
and in his dwelling
prove a temporary border
for he can not make
permanant to be
for forces do fix
the time and harmony
and prepare the course
upon which we should walk
to the sort of knowledge
we should stalk
take care should you
your muse defy
if you would care to live
and not to die
the muse in daily search
calls for your return
to the heart of wisdom
men do spurn

listen if you wish to learn
