Bread of Life

Bread of Life

A Poem by PoetryofProvidence

Oh beloved Son Of God
before my people I you laud
let me hold onto your staff
when separated wheat from chaff
The harvest is being gathered in
as your spirit examines men
You gave us only one command
to love and serve our fellow man
to choose a path of sacrifice
give up self in want of life
to worldly desires become dead
and clothed in love heart and body fed
to draw upon the Bread of Life
partake the table of his wife
to find the paths which he has walked
and of the truths which he has talked
that until the time appointed
to so dispence should the annointed
what is loves intent and it's design
and to be baptised within it's mind
what is life and all it's gain
if unto self where you remain
ah most splendored thing is love
and look upon it's treasures trove
Love is dispenced in many ways
and of the three we wrap our days
to embrace within it's many form
so we our spirits should adorn
for every heart this thing does seek
and in song bards of it speak
Love everywhere has given call
why does it's presence seem so small
and from it's teaching so many fall
