When There is Love (1985)

When There is Love (1985)

A Poem by PoetryofProvidence

When I touch you

I feel the chill of dawn

see the melting ice of the rivers

and the rustle of the leaves

With your coolness you do sooth me

from the heat of strife

the vanity of life

When you are lying by my side

the rays of sun shine through the trees

and the gentle shoots of life break ground

swan are basking in the light

you warm me through the night

When I look into your eyes

I feel stillness in my life

the shimmer of the dawn

a calm river running to it's course

the clouds roll softly by

and reflected there is I

When you embrace my body

the torches of blazing fires

and the rushing of the tide

the torrents of a monsoon rain

the earth quakes to it's core

and leaves me only wanting more

the kisses of your lips

are the drunkeness of wine

the smells of all the flowers

the touch of something soft and fine

a rainbow after summer showers

a memory for all my hours
