A Poem by PoetryofProvidence

I need you tonight          my beloved

I think if you don't hold me

                   I will break

the injustice of the world

                   is far too ugly

it has pierced my heart

                  within its wake

Those in power have passed judgment

                 based upon the framework

                 of a lie

ones who

                 do not seek the truth

                  having only partial vision

their arbitration       of justice     do defy

Persistent in tradition of the law inscribed

                who never truly listen

                to the witness told

                by never digging fully

                for the reasons

inflict their injuries in manifold

Every thought and action

                etched in time

          where the truth is written

                in its scroll

every seal firmly holds the witness

          until our Judge and King

          breaks it open to unroll

Because my misery

will never here have a voice

or those who today           I hear their screams

I have witnessed the oppressions

          of greater powers

          the courts of arbitrary

lead by those unclean and mean

Horror of horrors upon the children

by those instructed of its lead

have left a wake of pain and suffering

         engulfing of every hope

         swallowed by this breed

What is odd that

        they claim to love justice

and the banner they hold

        the name of God

but my soul is saturated

        with the flood waters

of judgments filled with lies and fraud

What happened to the heart

         of compassion

Where did the benevolence

         of its mercies go

Why can't true reason

         reach full status

How will we ever understand

         that it must grow

Those who pretend to rule by justice

in the governments and religions of men

ever expose their hearts of callous

the hardness of their hearts entered in

Sealed in time

       the tears of those oppressed

like the rain

       that waters fertile ground

we await the day

      our true judge

                     is coming

Where the light of Truth

will unseal what has been bound

So we await the day

      our King takes the power

away from the unjust and cruel

where every deceit it will devour

as a fire burning with its fuel

            I fear we are

            too few in number

to have any real voice at all

            but with the truth

            have set the table

     where those who dine there

            have heard the call

The Truth is poetry in motion

           it measures how

           we think and live

It moves the actions of our bodies

in the pursuit of the love

           we're meant to give
