Storm clouds have raged above us

River gums in Australia, are mighty, huge and timeless. I used the anology of life through the red gum.

Storm clouds have raged above us,
That arises and set before us,
For all the world to see, a mighty red gum stands,
A strength that defies the storms of life,
A beauty that dignifies our land,
Your arms stretch towards the sky,
Providing balance, as your leaves,
Search for sunlight, for radiant growth,
The warmth, beaming through,

Storm clouds, winds raged, high, and wild,
Making you restless, limbs fall, broken,
Yet you still, grow, growing stronger,
You, a mighty red gum, that stands above us all,
Through the times of our lives, we learn, from life's struggle,
Times have come and gone, struggles come and go,
Quietly, you've stood there above us all,
You've watched us grow and change,
Struggle through, storm clouds, winds of time,
Yet you stand before us all, remaining the same,

Through the times of our lives,
Though times may seem tough, there is hope,
I pray for God's strength,
The strength he has given you,
Facing each day, through times,
That come and go,
Each life that passes before You,
Is a gift from God,
Treasure each moment,
The simple things of life,
Are a gift from God,
One of life's pleasures.

Yes it is a giant Red river gum, which I have just completed a prose on, describing the land and times of the trees of Australia.

Like the idea of living in a wine state. I don't know if trees defy nature, or maybe the other way round. But the strength of tree, and what it provides for the animals around it, truly is awesome.

Yes it is not to bad living in a wine state, I have just added a prose on life around the Red river gums, trying to paint a picture on life in Australia. From the desert to the rivers.

had to look up the gum tree and am astounded at its attributes .. no wonder you chose it as a metaphor for survival ... i would like to read more colorful descriptions of the tree and surrounding land to help me have that experience .. especially since it actually thrives during flooding ..providing habitat for the fish .. i appreciate the age old wisdom of your poem and especially enjoy the references to God the Creator :))

I have posted the prose on the Red gum trees. It needs some work, though. I've had bronchitis lately had a bit of trouble thinking and getting it right
