Black & White

Black & White

A Poem by Henry Martinez

Everything here is so much simpler,

black & white, harmony in paradox,

where there's magic in the irony,

and the world is completely sound, finally.

What I could never put to words,

put in the open, finally.

A mixture of emotion and color,

the colors that resound to the world.

 When the mood strikes,

it comes out so naturally.

Play with soul, forget reality,

but soul becomes reality

for all to see.

It's a tool, but from what I perceive,

it becomes a part of me.

The darkness, the light,

the irony of black & white.
