You have burnt down my heart

You have burnt down my heart

A Poem by bcfro

Inside I'm destroyed,
My buildings have burned,
The girl that I love,
Set fire to my soul,
She broke me wide open,
And ripped out my heart,
She smashed it to pieces,
Did you plan this from the start,
I once said to you,
And my words remain,
If ever things would change,
And your love would fade,
I'd still not break the promises I made.
If you let go I'll except there's nothing I can do,
But I'll still be here, and
I will still love you.
And to this day that rhyme stays true,
But it is hard to love you,
When you just push me back to,
A place under water,
I'm drowning,
Can't you see,
I need you,
Please take me,
I'm crumbling like pastry,
I'm falling to pieces,
You hate me completely,
What did I do?
