Snow

Snow

A Poem by Ash
"

What is snow? A destructive force or a beautiful gift? It all depends on how you look at it.

"
As gentle as a daisy in spring,

As powerful as a dragon ruled by a king,

Ice cold as it can tear you apart,

But warm enough to truly melt your heart,

The trees bow their heads down in respect,

Just remember as the frigid air runs down your neck,

You believe this force will harm you in the end,

When in reality it just wants to be your friend,

Go out there in the wind and cold,

And see what you are really told,

Listen as it whispers in your ear,

'It's alright. I won't hurt you. There's nothing to fear.',

Smiling to yourself as you rush back inside,

Say it with hope and say it with pride,

Go in there and let the whole world know,

I made a new friend and her name is snow!

"This is the first poem that I have ever written"....are you sure about that? XD. For your first poem, this is actually really impressive. You already demonstrate a good understanding of effective literary devices (I really enjoyed your use of personification, similes and other devices in this piece), I like the concept behind the piece (I haven't read a piece on here with that same concept yet, so you get points for showing me something refreshing), and I think the way you wrapped it all up was very sweet. The piece actually made me think of when I was a little kid, befriending just about any sort of inanimate object my imagination would allow me to. Yeah...I was a goofy kid XD.

I did see a small typo in the line "Say it with hope and say iy with pride". I think "iy" should be "it".

Other than that, I actually can't think of any sort of recommendations as to what to revise here. You have a very solid poem from beginning to end. Great work! Keep on writing! :)

A very good poem. I liked your thoughts and the logical ending. Snow can be so damn beautiful and can be dangerous if you need to leave the house. I liked your thoughts about the snow. Thank you Ash for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

I like the seemingly whimsical nature of this poem, quite delightful. Aside from a spelling error or two it's quite lovely, especially the ending. Loving this perception of snow as depicted here.

Nice job!

Very well written, especially for a first. Very impressive and had a warm ending and your use of similes was also great. I noticed the 3rd line from the last, iy is supposed to be it i assume, otherwise I enjoyed reading this.
