drip drop

drip drop

A Poem by Amy Craig Beasley

shifting

while sifting

through

my mail

...

there

and

there

and

there-it-is-again

did you

hear it?

that

on the ground

and all

around

the crashing

sound

oh
just

a droplet

 again and again

blip

drip

drop

a letter

would be nice

... a note

from

you

to hold

to crinkle

and wrinkle

and

to

read

by the crackling

fire

however

heaven's

drip drop

will do

too

Methinks, that in the near future people will start to write to each other again. In a world where every second half-formed thought becomes a txt or a tweet, the importance of something hand-written may become of exceptional vaule. The thought of receiving such is very moving.
