on writer's block - a sort of drama

on writer's block - a sort of drama

A Poem by Amy Craig Beasley

I write

I write

I write

into a writer's block

and

spin around and spin around and spin

and spin and spin

around

till

on the ground

I fall

stop

breathing

and then

beat beat beat

I hear

the sound

a

streaming

sound

that gleams and brings me back

around

and

I

see the

thread

and feel the dread

that calls and calls me carefully

to by degrees

a

sort of standing

and

then

it is that

I

easily slip

with a swing of my hip

back

into

my chair

I write

I write

I write

Lovely little lyrical jaunt. It skip, skip skips along with the little rhymes giving it a charm.
