Starting Again

Starting Again

A Poem by amanda

Scattered as usual

There are a million words running through my mind

But I can't even find a beginning

A spot to slow it down

A place to make sense of it all

Though it's never made any sense, has it?

Always fractions of thoughts -

Abrupt

Circular

Never quite able to escape myself

Or find myself

And a solid ground from which to jump eludes me

Just go

I remember how this works

Close my eyes tight

Hold my breath deep

Arms in the air above my head

Jump

Forward, forward, go

Fast

Until I find myself in that place I know so well

That place that's crazed and sad and full of love

Where I can find the words to say what I'm trying to say

It's down there, somewhere

I can feel it

Yes!
I love how you put words to the indescribable... thoughts being "abrupt, circular," is so right on. When you spoke of the "place that's crazed and sad and full of love," I got butterflies because that's where so much begins and ends, it seems.
Can't wait to read more.....
And congrats on your first posted poem!
