Over

Over

A Poem by So Ensnared Truth
"

A relapse...

"

Over

I thought I was over you

I could see you without feeling it

I could hear from you without feeling it

Contact no longer made my heart flutter

So many songs that seemed to have been written about you no longer seemed so

Even our song

But then tonight

All of my hard work

The blood, sweat and tears

Came crashing down around me

It triggered an avalanche of memories

And with it came the feelings

Feelings of love, lust and longing

Longing to not just to be in your arms once more

But to be the one that you longed for again

That we not just be together

But we be as one

Because it makes sense

Because it feels right

Because it is right

Just... because

When one tries to bury old love, it sometimes rebels and breaks through when one is least expecting it. The imagery of an avalanche reflects that well: the sudden rush and then the suffocating aftermath.
