intoxicated thoughts

intoxicated thoughts

A Poem by Bella

It's crazy how the mind works.
I'm sober,
And all that's on my mind is when I'll see you again.
I've had a few drinks,
And all I can see is your smile,
And all I can hear is your laugh.
You're there, constantly.
Bringing me sadness and happiness all in one
I'm stupid enough to hope,
That against all odds, this could work.
But I am realistic enough to know it won't.
Hope is a good thing, right?
Because I hope you think the same,
And I hope you feel the same.
I know you don't.

This offering shows the intoxicating drug of romantic love and the fear and ambivalence that dog it. Interesting psychological study. Maybe also a cautionary tale.
