A Poem by Michelle

Beauty is in the plastic faces in the media and the silicone bodies of those women;
It's demonizing, seductive, and powerful.
Beauty is in the artwork displayed in the museums and those expensive mansions;
It's history, wealthy, and intricate.
-The funny thing about beauty?
It's said to be in the eyes of the beholder.-
Beauty is in the curvy woman walking down the street with more grace then those with less;
It's proud, majestic, and strong.
Beauty is in a child's lopsided drawing on the fridge and the stick figures in those frames;
It's innocent, sweet, and playful.

You see beauty's cry in the solemnity of flowers at funerals.
You see beauty's anger in the thunderstorms lurking disconsolate fields.
You see beauty's smile in a new parent's glow as they hold their body's creation.

I see beauty's laugh...

in the eyes of the man I love...

and to me,

it is the most beautiful beauty of all.
